King Again

He just did a costume change. Prior to this, the boys were dancing to West Side Story, including costume changes.

King Crispin

Crispin discovered that he could use a Virginia Tech tennis headband as a belt to hold a sword we procured at the 5th Avenue Theater during a production of Cinderella. He requested that this new costuming breakthrough be photographed--save this for when Crispin and Liam have their production company.

Snow Days

Sometimes what you seek comes to you. Monday we drove to snow. Now we have enjoyed two lovely days of snow by the beach. The boys are constructing an ice rink.

Up the Hill

Glorious

We were 5000 feet up, 17 miles up a twisty yet well sanded road. There was about a foot of new snow.

Off to Hurricane Ridge

We are on the Port Townsend ferry, waiting to go to the Olympic Peninsula. Hurricane Ridge is a national forest with sledding for children 8 and under. It was beautiful and snowy at Gedney View and up the hill. Once we passed Maxwelton Road, there was almost no snow.

West Side Story Percussion

In fairly quick succession, the boys and I discovered a longer version of a West Side Story soundtrack that included the long instrumentals with the great percussion parts. Liam and Crispin began playing bongos and cowbells along with the recording, and creating their own versions. I discovered a touring production was coming to town this week and we could get tickets still. The tickets were up front to the side, which allowed us to watch the orchestra warming up, which you see here. Tonight at Kelly's house the boys did a play which consisted of no dialogue, but moving plenty of furniture around--I assume like the rolling sets of balconies, bridal shops, and drugstores of the upper West Side. Perhaps it is time to search ebay for used scaffolding for Liam's birthday (that's a joke--sort of). - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

Crispin xcountry skiing

Our hotel has free ski gear, and the off peak course was free, so it was a great introduction to a sport we didn't know would ever come our way.

Snow vacation

The boys and I are in Leavenworth, WA, for a 2 day snow vacation. This is a little town 2 hours east and up from Seattle. It is a replica of a Bavarian town. We ate German food. Our hotel breakfast includes an alphorn serenade. The lovely indoor pool has Beethoven resounding.

We have gone swimming, sledded (video on facebook), climbed in snow, and eaten sushi.
